Stamina and Fatigue

The Brush, Milker, Clippers, Animal Medicine, S.M. Potion, C.M. Potion, Blue Feather, and Bell don't drain stamina.

All other tools take 1 stamina per use, with the exception of the five main tools.

Stamina drain is dependent on the power level of the tool being used, in the case of the five main tools. 1 stamina is added per power level, starting at 1.

If you hold down the use tool button for 3 seconds while your character is prepared to use their tool at the highest possible level they can manage, they will cancel out of the tool use, and no stamina or fatigue change will take place.

At 50% stamina, your character wipes his brow. At 30% stamina, your character bends over panting. At 10% stamina, your character sits down briefly sweating. At 0% stamina, your character briefly passes out, but gets back up.

At 50 fatigue, your character shakes his head. At 80 fatigue, your character falls over briefly and gets up shaking his head. At 100 fatigue, your character passes out and loses the rest of the day.

If you pass out from over-fatigue, you start the next day with 75 fatigue and lose 100G.

If you have 50 to 74 fatigue when you go to bed, you start the next day at 8:00AM. If you have 75 or more fatigue, you'll start the next day at 12:00PM.

Fatigue raises by 3 at 12:00AM, 2:00AM, and 4:00AM automatically if you're still awake at these times. This won't happen if you're asleep at these times, though (ie. in the hot springs or napping).

Fatigue raises by 20 if you don't go to bed (ie. stay up 'til 6:00AM).

Fatigue is automatically reduced by 1 each day by your morning meal.

Fatigue rises according to the following mechanics.

ConditionsMystic Berry?Fatigue per Tool Use
Sunny day, before 10:00PMNo0 if stamina is left, 2 if stamina is at 0
Sunny day, between 10:00PM and 12:00AMNo1 if stamina is left, 3 if stamina is at 0
Sunny day, 12:00AM or laterNo2 if stamina is left, 4 if stamina is at 0
Rainy day, before 10:00PMNo1 if stamina is left, 3 if stamina is at 0
Rainy day, between 10:00PM and 12:00AMNo2 if stamina is left, 4 if stamina is at 0
Rainy day, 12:00AM or laterNo3 if stamina is left, 5 if stamina is at 0
Sunny day, before 12:00AMYes0 if stamina is left, 1 if stamina is at 0
Sunny day, 12:00AM or laterYes1 if stamina is left, 2 if stamina is at 0
Rainy day, before 10:00PMYes0 if stamina is left, 1 if stamina is at 0
Rainy day, after 10:00PMYes1 if stamina is left, 2 if stamina is at 0

Power level used for the basic five tools does not affect fatigue rise. Using the first level of a basic tool raises fatigue by the same amount as the highest level of a tool.

Going to bed by 6:00PM restores 127 stamina and reduces fatigue by 30. These effects reduce by 7 stamina and 3 fatigue per hour after 6:00PM that you stay up.

Food items restore stamina and reduce fatigue. See Item Mechanics for details.

The hot springs restore 2 stamina per game minute, and 1 fatigue per game minute.

* You can reduce your litter count to 0 by going to the confessionals at church and admitting to littering.
* You can safely throw items without littering anywhere on your farm, at the hot springs, outside of Gotz' house, near the lake, in the flower garden on Mother Hill, at the peak of Mother Hill, and on the beach.
