The Death of the Pointless and Insignificant By Sky Render and Avenger (Two days after the tragic (ha!) death of the majority of the FF8 cast, Fujin and Raijin took a vacation to Fisherman's Horizon. Little did they know what would follow...) "This sucks, ya know?" Raijin said, sighing. "They's all dead. What got into 'em, anyway?" "SICKENING," Fujin replied, and shook her head. Raijin grinned. "Ya wanna know what's even sicker?" he asked. Fujin's foot was in his groin before he could even start. "OWWW! Damn, Fujin, it wasn't THAT bad..." Fujin shrugged. "STUPID," she said, and kicked him again. Raijin was starting to get mighty sick of this, and kicked her in the head. Fujin stepped backwards, stunned. She looked at Raijin, rage in her eye. "DIE!" she yelled, and threw her Zan at Raijin. Raijin reeled back in pain, the Zan stuck in his chest. "Bitch! What was that for, ya know?" he asked, and fainted from loss of blood. Fujin retrieved her Zan, and headed towards Balamb Garden. She had death on her mind... * * * Back at Balamb Garden, Edea sensed that something was wrong. Suddenly, her mind was cleared, and she felt great fear. The evil Death For No Reason spell had been unleashed on someone. And they were coming this way. Panicked, the ran to Headmaster Cid's office. "Cid! Someone is coming here to kill everyone!" "Really? Well, we better do what we do best and hide at your orphenage... I hear there are a couple retired Galbadian soldiers by the names of Biggs and Wedge. Have someone call them up and bring them to the Garden to defend it when we are gone," Cid said, chuckling. "Alright, good idea," his wife said, running off to summon the soldiers. Meanwhile, Fujin was wreaking havoc on the poor citizens of Fisherman's Harbor with her weapon. By the time she reached the junction between the center of FH and the path to Balamb Garden, she had killed twenty unsuspecting civilians, and was chasing one now. She threw her Zan, and hit him straight in the neck, killing him instantly. As she walked by a man standing by a rail, she struck him hard in the back of his head with her hand, cracking his skull. Retrieving her weapon, she slashed the lift operator with it, and climbed up the rail, and murdered the other lift operator when she reached the top. She shook her head. "IDIOTS," she muttered, and ran towards the Garden. It was time to get revenge on some unsuspecting classmates... As she ran to the Garden, the Master Fisherman whipped out at her with his fishing rod. The line flew high and true, and caught the neck of her shirt. When the Fisherman knew he had a catch, the pulled back hard, hauling Fujin backwards and into the water, where she promptly drowned. "That young lady was from this Garden place! I knew they only wanted to cause harm! I'll show them what I do to rude young people on power trips!" the Master Fisherman yelled as he climbed the structure to the entrance of the Garden. Just as the huge building was setting off, he jumped onto the balcony and entered, ready to kill. * * * Biggs looked up from the orders he was holding. "Damn! We've been demoted again! Now we're mere security guards!" Wedge shook his head. "Shoulda stayed home..." he said, and leaned back against the wall of the second floor hallway. Biggs leaned back on the balcony entrance door, and sighed. He was rather surprised when he was shoved straight into Wedge as the door opened. Looking over, he saw some strange man holding a bloody fishing pole, looking ready to maim some people. "Wedge!" he whispered. "What're we gonna do? I don't wanna die!" The fisherman turned, hearing their voices, and swung his pole at them. The hook struck Biggs in the eye, and he yelped in pain as it took his eye out. In the confusion, the fisherman took Bigg's machine gun, and blew both Bigg's and Wedge's brains out. He smiled, satisfied, and turned down the hall, ready to show Balamb what happens when you crash into FH with no good reason. "What's that noise?" Edea gasped. "Oh no... they must be here already!" Cid screamed, wetting himself. Edea frowned, disgusted. "Well... what are we going to do?" "Uhm... I have a plan," Cid said, rolling a large yellow orb out from under his desk. "What is that thing?!" "This is a great way to get more Pointless and Insignificant characters into the story, but, more importantly, it will save our buttocks! This," Cid paused for effect, "is the NORG summon materia!" "So that's what he evolved into? A summon materia?" Edea asked, surprised. "I guess so." "Well... let's hope Biggs and Wedge do their job, so we don't have to use the tubby Shumi," Edea said. Cid nodded. Little did they know that the Master Fisherman was just... outside... the door. * * * "Ugh... I'm... bleeding pretty bad, ya know?" Raijin muttered, dragging himself towards the Garden, which had stopped moving for some reason. "I... have to... stop the madness, ya know? Since I'm... so dumb... I am the only one who is guaranteed to be a good... guy... the whole time, ya know?" Resolute and losing blood very very quickly, Raijin continued to pull himself along, fighting for all that was good! Back in the cockpit, the master fisherman was hacking away at Cid's office door. Edea frowned, and turned to Cid. "What are you waiting for?" she asked him. "Summon them! We can't survive, we don't have any weapons!" Cid nodded, and concentrated on summoning. Just as he finished, the door was blasted open, and 500 unarmed Shumis appeared in the office. "Oh, no!" Cid yelled, and jumped onto the elevator, grabbing Edea's hand and dragging her on. Meanwhile, the Master Fisherman was knocking down Shumis like dominos with his gunfire, and frantically searching for something to kill when he was done. Up above, Cid cowered in the corner of the control room, and Edea shook her head. "I'll just have to kill him, I guess..." But before she could even begin to cast a spell, the Master Fisherman reeled forward, a staff impaled through his chest. Edea didn't even notice it, though, and kept summoning her spell. Raijin, bleeding like mad, threw his staff down, and looked up at the platform. Just as Cid noticed him, Edea finished her spell, and sent a wicked ice shard through Raijin's skull. The young man stumbled backwards, and fell to the ground, dead. Edea shrieked in rage. "NO!!! Now the spell has been transferred to me! Cid, run!" Cid nodded, and started to run, but it was too late. His wife grabbed him, and threw him into Nida. She then cast Meteor on them, and went down. Now SHE wanted to kill everyone... Just as Edea was coming out of the elevator trying to find someone to kill, she was tackled by Ellone. Before Edea could get her bearings, she was in the Dream World, looking through Laguna'a eyes, talking to Raine. "Must... kill... Raine..." she though. Laguna looked around, a little confused. "That was kind of a weird thought," he said, scratching his head. "Damn faeries." Edea tried to force her will into Laguna, forcing her thoughts into his mind. He began to shake. "Raine! Marry me!" he said, finally snapping under the pressure of Edea's will. He pulled out his machine gun and filled Raine's body with bullets. [ Editor's note: this past event may be what caused Squall's original insanity in Part 1: The Quest for the Holy Vase (Interpolating Squall's Bad Day) ] Shaken by Edea's power, Ellone fell back, releasing the sorceress from her power. Zone and Watts called out to her. "Ellone, get out of there! There's nothing you can do!" Ellone struggled off of Edea, and just barely managed to escape one of her ice shards as it impaled itself into the wall next to her. She ran to the second floor elevator, and hit the MD level button by accident. Now she was in for it, she realized. That place was literally a maze. Meanwhile, Zone and Watts were trying to hold back the sorceress, but weren't having much luck. "She's posessed or something!" Zone said, dodging another icicle. Suddenly, Edea stopped, and fell flat on the ground. Standing over her, the Chocoboy held up a Gyshal Green in victory. "I KNEW all of these stupid vegetables would come in handy some day!" Edea, regaining conciousness, slowly rose. The Chocoboy didn't notice, and was rather startled when he felt an icicle penetrate his chest. He fell back, dying, and muttered, "Stupid bitch..." Watts took advantage of the sudden confusion, and hit Edea hard across the head with a steel pipe he'd found. There was a sickening crunch as her skull cracked, and Edea fell to the floor, dead. Watts felt something pass through him, and he suddenly lusted for blood. Zone, unaware of this, walked over to Watts, and was very surprised to receive a forehead full of steel pipe. Watts grinned, and headed to the elevator. On to the first floor... "First the library. Then, the infirmary," he said to himself, choosing his minor character victims carefully. Watts walked slowly and calmly to the library, killing anyone who happened to get in his way. When he finally arrived, he saw the cute looking girl who had been hanging around with Zell. "Hey! Girl! Did you know Zell died!? Hahahah!" he laughed. He didn't know why he was being so harsh. The girl began to cry, and suddenly he felt a little bad about himself, so he killed her to shut her up. Smiling and feeling better about himself, he went off in search of the doctor. Doctor Kadowaki, after hearing about so many deaths, was on alert. Grabbing a syringe full of a deadly poison, she headed out of the infirmary, in search of whoever it was that was causing all of this trouble. As she walked into the foyer, Watts saw her, and grinned. Target found, he thought, and charged forward, steel pipe ready. What he wasn't ready for was the needle of poison that the doctor injected into his side as he ran by, missing her. Watts fell to the ground, the poison quickly killing him. Doctor Kadowaki felt a very malicious air come over her, and she decided that she was tired of treating the students at this garden. Returning to the infirmary, she grabbed a few dozen more syringes of poison, and started roaming the halls, injecting everybody she met. Meanwhile, on the MD level, Ellone was desperately trying to find her way out of the maze down there. She had managed to find her way to a large pillar with a knocked-over ladder, but was a bit confused. Shouldn't she be going the other way? She shook her head, and continued downwards. Something was drawing her down below... * * * Dr. Kadowaki ran the halls, but had only one poison syringe left. She was going to make it count. She heard a battle cry from behind her and turned quickly. She was surprised to see Martine, the old Headmaster of Galbadia Garden running towards her with an old gunblade. He must have slipped on board at FH, she though. No matter. She turned and prepared to dodge aside and inject him with the poison. Martine charged straight into the doctor, not giving her time to get out of the way, he nearly cleaved her in half with the old gunblade, but felt a prick under his arm. As the doctor died before him, he looked at his arm and saw where the needle had pierced his skin, injecting him with the deadly poison. Within seconds, he was dead. * * * As Ellone continued to the bottom of the Garden, she felt a strange presence in the air. Trying frantically to clear her mind, she knew that something was very wrong on this Garden, and that it must be stopped. She must kill... She would sink the Garden. Hurrying through the passages, Ellone reached the place where the controls for the Garden had been. She saw a small switch nearby, labeled in some other language, but its purpose was clear enough. She pressed the switch, and gave a wicked smile as the platform began to descend. Ignoring the dead bodies, she smashed the control panel up, and looked up with pleasure as the Garden's gears slowed down, then halted entirely. She felt a sinking feeling, and could only smile as the screams of terror emanated from above. She had succeeded. As she looked up again, she felt the strange feeling she had suffered pass, and realized what she'd done. But it was too late, and the control room was starting to flood. With a last-ditch effort, she hit a random button on the wall. Unfortunately for the world, she hit the Self-Destruct button. Ten seconds later, a massive explosion rocked the sea, and FH was vaporized. The bridge to Esthar was quickly annihilated, and all of Timber and Esthar followed FH's lead in being destroyed. Within a minute of detonation every location from Centra to Trabia was hit by the explosion, and everything was vaporized. The entire planet shook with the explosion, and was hurled into a direct course with its satellite, into which it gruesomely crashed. The two celestial bodies then proceeded to be forced out of their solar system, and into space, to freeze over for all time. And thus ended the world of FF8. T H E E N D
